The Hilton Parklane?

It is actually the London Hilton -- all the other Hiltons are "Kensington Hilton" etc. THE London Hilton is the one near the corner of Park Lane and Picadilly. (Hyde Park Corner). The location is fab - haven't stayed there since I always rent apartments when in London. But I have visted friends, eaten, or had drinks there many, many times. The cocktail lounge on the top floor has one of the best views in all of London. The restaurant on the same floor is fairly expensive - but for the price of a drink in the bar you can sit for ever and enjoy the view over London and down into Buckingam Palace Gardens.

Millie,
My family and I are staying at the London Hilton in two weeks. You didn't mention when you were going to London but if you still need information on the hotel, e-mail me and I'll let you know what we thought. We stayed at the Churchhill Inter-Continental last time and the Mayfair location was great, so I'm assuming that the Hilton will be the same.

Millie,
Just got back from London on Monday. The
London Hilton was quite nice. We liked
the location better than the Churchill
on Portman Square only because it was
easier to use the Green Park tube stop
to change lines. Most tourist attractions could be reached within one
or two stops from Green Park as opposed
to the Marble Arch stop that is closer
to the Churchill as you are not able to
change lines at that station. The Hilton
is on the same street as the Hard Rock
which we like, but there was only one
pub in the area that we noticed which
was the Rose and Crown across the street
from the Hard Rock. Decent food and the
manager was very friendly. Pret a Manger
was a block or two from the hotel if you
like that. Hope this helps. E-mail me
directly if you have more questions.

Marlo thanks for your info. I think I can picture the hotel now that you said it was on the same side as the Hard Rock Cafe. I still don't know if I want to give up the Knightsbridge area that I usually stay in. Again thanks and I hope you had a nice time.
