Thanks I am well prepared for Paris
Just wanted to thank all the regular posters. I have been reading this board
for the past five months and am off to Paris on October 4th for eight days.
My friend and I challenged ourselves to stay with a fitness routine for five months, with the reward being a week in Paris for just
us girls (and I use the term loosely).
I have used 1800FlyEurope to book my airfare(got the fall sale mentioned here) JFK-CDG $400. I booked a room at Le Regent Hotel in the 6th.
I have brushed up on college french by using Pimsleur tapes from the library and Annenberg French in Action online. I have used Pages Jeune to scope out my neighborhood and have long lists of the best bakeries, chocolate, handbags, beauty products, etc. Not to mention what I have
learned about wine (je voudrais un verre de vin rouge)
I know my metro stop and how to take the RER to Versailles - though the mirrors
are covered. Also plan to book daytrip to Brugges and possibly Rheims (if we can pull ourselves away from Laduree, Berthillion,
Amarino, Creperies, shopping, and sampling wine)
I am packing light in my new 20" suitcase (tip -TravelGear very light 5lbs. purchased at TJMaxx). I will bring my food on board...
Well you get the idea.
Thanks for your patience. It's interesting how many times the same questions get asked and the same people patiently, politely, and with humor repeat their wonderful
travel gems. So thanks for making the planning of my trip so special
and unique.

Wow, enjoy your trip! Chocolates -- I've decided that I even prefer Pierre Marcolini (on rue de Seine) to La Maison du Chocolat. Give it a try (it's a Belgian chocolatier).
Maybe the Paris Superthread will have stuff that you missed:

Have fun and let us know how it all went!

Have a wonderful trip! We just returned from Paris a few weeks ago and didn't even do as much research as you did... it's a magical city! And don't worry, there's a small section of the Hall of Mirrors that's uncovered, so you can get a little taste of what it looks like.

I have just returned from Paris and enjoyed myself at both Laduree and Berthillion . . . I think our travel interests are very similar. (Plus I'm also another "ceejay."
Your planning sounds perfect - have a great trip!

111op -Have added Pierre Marcolini to my list -unfortunately very near my hotel. I was really looking forward to the chocolate in Brugges and bringing some home as gifts but maybe I can purchase my gifts at PM instead and not have to lug them on a day trip.
Strass - Glad to hear some of the mirrors are uncovered
TPaxe - Can't wait to try cacao et chocolate
Cheryllj - Thanks CJ
Scarlett - I always keep a trip diary so I will be glad to post a trip report
Mitch - Pardon - mais naturellement S'il Vous Plait
Thanks again to all - two more days!!!!
