Linda I enjoyed your trip report and am impressed with the amount of hiking you did. We thought the hike from the Guarda parking lot up to the village was arduous!

xman, we went the middle of June and I love that time. This was our second trip in June- last year we had a heat wave, but this year the weather was perfect (June 10-24) You won't have throngs of tourists, cause most European kids are still in school. What I would do differently? Good question! However, besides not missing the bus so much in Guarda, I can't think of a thing! We researched quite well and we were determined to do a really quaint, non-touristy trip. We were blessed with perfect weather. On the previous trip, we stayed in larger towns (Lugano, Montreux, Geneva and Wengen) Of those, we liked Wengen the best, so we focused on scenic small villages in planning. We weren't interested in night life, museums and the like, just paradise, hiking, great food, nice people and quiet beauty. We're both active and like to get a workout on vacation- this one got us buff!
