tgv in france
i'm travelling from London to Avignon midweek in September. (( Actually Wed 29 September, but as this is not open yet I am doing a trial book with the previous two weeks. ))Am trying to book using raileurope.uk. I'd prefer to not change stations in Paris so I've chosen the 09.53 from London, changing at Disneyland station. I have done mock ups of my booking to try to get a good 'side by side' seat. But am not having much luck. On the TGV Duplex from Disneyland station I am not given any options for chosing a upper level or lower level. What is coming back as my seat allocation is a number in the 20s or 30s so I think it is a lower lever which I do not want.
If I do my booking as two seperate journeys - with Eurostar and then with TGV.com I do get the options. However, I am thinking it may be a little risky this way if the first leg train was delayed or I make some mistake!
Hoping that someone with good experience may reply.

The www.voyages-sncf.com site gives London-Paris Nord followed by Paris Lyon-Avignon as the way to go, with about one hour to transfer from Paris Nord to Paris Lyon (even though it takes much less time by RER D).
You will obviously have many more options if you do it that way rather than trying to go through Chessy-Disneyland.

Why would you prefer not to change in Paris, when it's clearly going to limit your choices severely?
And I'd stay away from the Rail Europe site, which will overcharge you, and use the www.voyages-sncf.com site.

RailEurope is a subsidiary of sncf....
but still charges more. There is a TGV from Brive to CDG and Lille (and vice versa), so there should be one from the Provence. A friend's sister regularly goes from London to her house in the Provence, and from what I recall without changing trains in Paris proper. Maybe Lille?
