Termini Station

I know this might be a silly question--We are arrriving in Rome at 8:30 AM and going to take the train to Florence. Are there any places to get breakfast at the station?.

Don't forget that in the sort of place that sells coffee and croissants, you pay at the desk first and then take your receipt to the counter to collect your food.

Grab an extra snack to take on the train if you prefer. The food on the trains is expensive and we found, not as good as the food at the station. You probably will be jetlagged - it's an awful feeling at 2am.

Be careful if you are jetlagged - the trains in Italy leave the platform with very little warning. Make sure you get on the train in plenty of time.

go downstairs there are also several places there from McDonalds to pizza which is always good for breakfast <G>, there is as well a small mini type shop that sells, food, drug items etc. Saves buying snack on train.

Last time I was there that more or less "grocery store" downstairs had all KINDS of food/cookies/beverages/snacks available...a real wealth of stuff for journeys.

The grocery store in the basement of Termini is called Conad. They have a very nice wine selection. You can have them make you a sandwich and they have salads and sandwiches pre-made to go.

If you have time, and would like a nice atmosphere, walk out the front doors of Termini and go over to the terrace of the Exedra Hotel for coffee and cornetto. You can look out at the fountain of the Piazza Repubblica. Expensive, but beats eating at a fast-food place inside Termini.
