Terminal 5 Update

Sorry to be a bother but it appears that the BA flights from LHR to CDG have been operating on time from T5. How is the luggage situation and lastly how much time is needed to travel between T3 and T5?

Many Thanks to all of you.

Last week we had 135 minutes to get from T5 to T3 - with small wheelies only - and trotting most of the way. By the time we got to our gate at T3 boarding was well underway. One key issue: we had to wait about 20 minutes for a bus from 5 to 3 (they're supposd to run every 5 minutes).

Don't know which direction you're going in. And T5 was certainly mobbed with staff.

But I would allow plenty of time (BA says 120 minutes minimum).

Thanks nytraveler: We get into LHR at T3 at 8:50 and fly out of T5 at 12:05 and we will have to pick up luggage as we are flying in on Virgin and out on BA.

Sorry - can't help about luggage through T5. Didn't I hear they sent all those bags they couldn;t deal with to Italy?

That's at least the 2nd time BA has sent unmatched luggage to Milan. They did it last year too - when it had nothing to do w/ T-5. I think they said 15,000 bags were trucked to Milan that time.

BAA's (British Airports Authority) luggage computer system broke down but apparently only BA was severely affected. Didn't hear about AA or any others having to send things out of the country to be sorted.

And a greater shame that those bags weren't destined for Italy in the first place.
