I think it was $.79 per minute from France and $.99 from Germany. The website shows $.49 per minute, but I believe with the $49 phone it was more. You don't need to add minutes before you go. You can do it easily on internet. I added an additional $30 to mine and I think I may have about 3 minutes left. This was in addition to my husband calling me at least once per day at the hotel. And I had an AT&T calling card to call him. I have lots of cats and dogs so I need to keep in touch often.
