deedeedee, I think your hotel would have the best answer. I haven't been in a taxi from the airport for a few years. I believe the last one I took was about 18 euros. Still I would check with the hotel.

Last month we took a taxi from our hotel by the Duomo to the airport for slightly less than 20 euro plus tip.

Hi

We took the bus from the airport into town - the airport is located close to town so it shoulnd't cost much even in a taxi. Here is a Florence trip report with photos and links that I made after our trip: http://gardkarlsen.com/florence_italy_travelogue.htm . Hope you can find some useful info there.

Regards

Flat rate 20 Euros to any hotel in the centre of town. There is also the local bus, but if you have luggage, are tired and can afford it take the taxi.

It occurs to me that I have taken the bus to the city, and it was very easy. They had room for luggage. I seem to recall that we got off near the Duomo, but I won't swear to that.

- tuscanlifeedit- There is a bus, but none now go near the Duomo as the area is pedestrianised. I myself would use the bus into Florence; but for those new to the city a taxi is the simplest way to get straight to your destination.
