We spent a week in Barcelona last year. I second Tapeo. This was our favorite Tapas bar. We ate there twice. Two other tapas style restaurants we enjoyed were Arcano and Llamber. Café De L'Academia was an excellent gourmet bistro. The best restaurant we went to was Tast Ller. They have a set menu with small tapas style plates, but this is much more upscale than a regular tapas bar and reservations must be made weeks in advance. All of these places are in El Born or the Gothic Quarter and are within easy walking distance from your hotel

Second the recommendation of Tapeo, a 5-7 minutes walk from your hotel.
But you are also just 50 meters from great atmosphere Taberna del Bisbe, just opposite your hotel and beside the cathedral. Have had great tapas/small portions here a couple of times, and last time, in November, it was just excellent. The caneloni (a Barcelona speciality) was delicious, and the award winning Tuna tataki with tomato marmalade, sprouted radish and citrus fruits was outstanding. My wife have also had some excellent salads here. Also plenty of main dishes. http://www.tavernadelbisbe.com/eng/home.htm
They also have a bargain three course lunch Menú del diá (Today's menu) Monday to Friday for 12€. Popular with both locals and tourists, and it's open all day, from 7am to 1am. Most Barcelona restaurants don't open before 8-9pm for dinner, so it has been convenient for a meal before or after going to see a concert in the close by Palau de la Música Catalana. Also a very nice terrace here, right on the plaza and looking up on the cathedral. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaura...Catalonia.html
And just behind your hotel, you also have the famous Els Quatre Gats (The four cats) with tons of Barcelona modernisme history in the walls. Many tourists come here these days, but this is something really special, and I highly recommend a visit. Had a great late night here last time in November. http://www.4gats.com/

... and here's the gastrobar menu at Els Quatre Gats, 100 meters behind your hotel. You need a reservation here: http://www.4gats.com/en/the-gastroba...quality-tapas/

IRATI Taverna Basca is also nearby. There open at 11:00 daily. It belongs to Grupo SAGARDI, so they are almost Basque.
You're better off going to El Quim de la Boqueria or Bar Kiosko Universal, since you're in the neighborhood. Or head for Tapas 24 in the Right (Dreta) Eixample.
