I think that this might be my final tally (though you never know, perhaps this will spark a whole new round of respondents).

Have received a pin - - 96
Received an empty envelope - - 31
Have not received anything - - 21

Although a few well-known regulars (and "less regular" visitors) are conspicuous by their absence in any thread about these infamous pins - - BH, AS, CT, just to mention a few - - I conclude that the responses received so far are almost surely 50% or more of all those who ordered a pin (why would someone order one, and be so unwilling to comment on what they received? - - even if it was nothing).

The traffic on this board is pretty vigorous - - the signs of any dwindling off are not evident to me - - but, as a "community", it appears to me that "we" are a smaller group than my daughter's high school class.

Either that, or the "class participation" is a lot lower than I realize.
oops! Take be off the not received list. Turns out my son opened it when we were in Italy. He set it aside for me and forgot about it. I found it when I cleaned the bakers' rack in our kitchen today!

You sound like logo wearers that you put down.

I received my pin while I was on my trip to Turkey and Greece. The envelope had a hole in it, but the pin was still in it. I like the pin and think it was a very nice gesture of Fodor's to give them away.

Cripes Rex, topping for Deepa? What do we have to do around here to get a pin, have deepa thoughts? I'll have to get to the bottom of this.
Yours in all things deep (but not deep enough),
Dr. Betty

I am SOOOO excited! I just got my pin in the mail today! It was mailed yesterday (maybe I hadn't received it because they had to order more?). It arrived in perfect condition.

I will be in Puerto Rico and the BVI's in September and then Italy or France in February, so hopfully I will spot other Fodorites!

Got home from a month in Paris to find envelope with a hole in it [within a clear Post Office apology bag] and no pin. I don't need it now because I'll be staying home until next year, but thank you anyway, Fodors--it's the thought that counts! {Didn't see any over there but my eyesight isn't all that sharp.

The pin does live on! Dave, I live in NYC, about 30-40 blocks away from Fodors. I also ordered it the first day. The envelope that it came in was a padded envelope (were the original envelopes padded too?). If you haven't received your pin there's still hope!

I was one of those "empty envelope" folks until this morning when I received a Fodor's pin in a padded envelope. Thanks, Fodor's. It will serve as a good excuse to begin planning a trip. Not that I need an excuse. (By the way, I got three Fodor's travel books for Father's Day. They must have known I was a good customer.)

Cheers,

Gerry K
