Its just idle curiosity on my part, but what is so important about getting a Fodors pin? Also, what is the purpose of this thread? Is it to embarass Fodors? For a company that provides travelers a free forum to exchange travel information, don't some of you think its kind of in bad taste to be harping on whether you got your free pin or not? I really do not understand the purpose of this thread or the apparent importance that some of you attach to getting a Fodors pin. Anyone care to enlighten me?

Curious,

I believe it's not the pin, in and of
itself, that is so terribly important.
For me, coming across someone in a
foreign land whose name I recognize
from this forum, and with whom I've
exchanged ideas or suggestions would
be quite enjoyable. And the pin would
be a means of recognition.

Happy travels,

Gerry K

I ordered my pin on the second day and just received it last week (5/30). Also in a "holey" envelop but pin in perfect condition. It is beautiful and I thank the people at Fodors for going to all the trouble and expense of providing us with this opportunity to connect with other "Fodorites". I have been with this forum for two years (mostly doing assists for those going to Egypt and on this site to get info for an upcoming trip).

Rex, THUMBS UP!! I think this is a great idea you have to find out how many did/did not get their pins and hope others will continue to post their situations.

Regards, Alice (who is off to Europe for 7 weeks - 4 of those in France...ahhh the rewards of being a teacher who drives a clunker!!) ;-)

I'll just go take my estrogen replacement and get out of your hair. I'd tell you why I said that, but I need to go take that pill
