Take a Tunic to Europe this Fall

I saw a report that the hot thing to wear in western Europe this fall is a tunic. I am travelling to London and Paris in October - should I pack one or two be be "smart" on the streets of the cities?

Do you wear it with the bowling shoes, or what?

I hear shrouds and smocks are making a comeback, too. Make sure they are black, though.

Were tunics worn in the punic wars?

Tunic is understood in general a vestment shaped like a sack, which has in the closed upper part only a slit for putting the garment over the head, and, on the sides, either sleeves or mere slits through which the arms can be passed. The expressions under-tunic or over-tunic are used accordingly as the tunic is employed as an outer vestment or under another. A tunic that reaches to the feet is called a gown tunic (tunica talaris, Gr. poderes); a tunic without sleeves or with short sleeves is called colobium; one which leaves the right shoulder free, exomis.

Of course, punic tunics were worn with an early form of tennis shoes, sometimes cinched with a lovely fanny
(punic bum) pack.

I'm taking a tuna, myself. You never know when those hunger pangs will hit.

Or maybe a nice tunicate. Although those sea squirts don't taste as good with celery and mayo as good old Chicken of the Sea.
