Switzerland Rail Pass

We are a family of 5 adults going to Wengen for a week of hiking. Arrive in Zurich and can either train back and forth to Wengen, or I looked and a car and the parking in Lauterbrennen is $500. Should we get a Swiss Pass for the week, or rent the car and just do the Jungfrau pass? Any an all help is so appreciated. Not sure each day yet where we will go, but assume a few trains and cable cars will be necessary the five days we plan on hiking.

The usual answer to this question is to look at the one month Half Price Card costing 120 SF per person, which does what says on all forms of Swiss public transport. Much better than paying for a cat and parking in Lauterbrunnen. You could always do the maths, just put together a spreadsheet of all possibilities for trips.

A Bernese Oberland Pass for 8 days costs 370 CHF/pax resp. 46 CHF/day.
https://www.regionalpass-berneroberl...rices-tickets/
It's valid in the whole Bernese Oberland and on the access routes from Lucerne, Berne and Brig.
A full fare ticket Zurich airport - Lucerne cost 30 CHF.
Total 430 CHF
The same with a Swiss half Fare Card:
Half Fare Card: 120 CHF
Oberland Pass: 240 CHF
ZRH - Lucerne RT: 30 CHF
Total 390 CHF
If you don't use many mountain railways, the Half Fare Card may do it.
You may have a look at https://www.jungfrau.ch/en-gb/schyni...platte-ticket/ in order to get an idea of he fares of he most popular mountains railway in the area.
