switzerland accommodation

Does anyone have a recommendation for a villa or self catering accommodation in Central Switzerland or Ticino area?

How many people? When? Do you care where it is?

Hi NoraS
Sorry should have elaborated.
When: Beginning of Sept
Who: 2 adults
Where: Anywhere in Central Switzerland, or Ticino. If we cannot utilize the bus/train system to get to the places that we would like to see, then we will rent a car.

Colleenbee, we have stayed in an apartment at the Hotel Residence in Grindelwald---it was very nice with a balcony facing the glacier and peaks. I'm sure it's on the website that Budman gave you. We also have a favorite short-stay apartment in Mürren, but that is not a convenient location for getting anywhere else.

I think you should look at a map and narrow your choices to a few locations that give you easy access to the various areas you want to visit. Lucerne, for example, has good access by train to both the Ticino and the Berner Oberland.

We will be staying at the following in late September and plan to rent a car through Andy Bestor at gemut.com (who has better rates than our usual source of autoeurope--Note gemut is an affiliate of A/E. Confusing, for sure).

Grindewald: http://www.hotel-gletschergarten.ch/...nwohnung.shtml

Locarno: http://www.vrbo.com/10346

Both of the owners have been wonderful to work with. Best of luck!
