Suggestions on itinerary for one-month Europe trip

Hi Everyone, I'm planning a trip to Europe in July (I haven't been since I was 4 or 5 years old...) I'd fly into Paris, then travel by train with the global eurail pass. Also, I like good food/drink and artistic/cultural/scenic spots.. nightlife/shopping after that, but nothing too crazy since it's looking like a solo trip for now. The more historic places and tucked-away gems I can explore on foot, the better.

I'm not exactly sure how many days I should spend in each city (there are a lot, but I have stamina!), or if this gives the least amount of time in travel:

Paris (1-3)
Brussels (4-5)
Bruges (6)
Amsterdam (8-10)
Berlin (11-13)
Dresden (14-15)
Prague (16-18)
Vienna (19-21)
Budapest or Durnstein (22-24) (Any opinions?)
Salzburg (25-26)
Munich (27-29)

Any advice/changes/recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Many of these destinations demand more time than you are giving.
I would select a max of 8 of the above:
Paris--5
Amster--3
Berlin--3
Prague---4
Vienna---4
Budapest--3
Salzburg--3
Munich---4

I'm not sure why you're giving so few days to some cities with so much to see/do (like Paris, Munich, Prague - in order to see places that have way less to see/do (Brussels is primarily a government center for the EU).

Remember that a full day in a city means you have to be there 2 nights.

And I think you aren;t allowing time to get form one place to another - which will be from 1/2 to most of a day, depending on distance. IMHO you have 11 stops and should limit yourself to 7 or 8 at most.

Looks really overambitious to me. Plus I think the way you are organizing your itinerary is flawed. You need to break it down by nights in a particular place and understand that you only get one day in a place out of two nights there. Cut it down to about 7 places.

Don't forget to figure a minimum of 1/2 day to change locations.

Fly open jaw: into one city and home from another. Eliminates backtracking.
