Suggestions for Normandy ?

My daughter, her husband, and 2 girls -
--8 and 4 -- have 3 extra days to wander between Paris and Mont St. Michel, and environs. Considering ages of the children, what less expensive places to go/stay/eat can you suggest? -- Any ideas will be appreciated. -- Thanks

There are really a lot of not-too-expensive (30-75 euro per night) places to stay in Normandy, and "so many roads" lead from Paris to MSM. Take a look at all the choices on http://www.normandy-tourism.org/gb/06heberg/heberg.html - - especially a lot of the Logis de France.

Best wishes,

Rex

I spent a week at Dol-de-Bretagne (on a campsite, but in a chalet by a lake) 3 years ago with 4 children then aged 13,11,and 9 (twins). Apart from Mont St Michel, Cancale is a fascinating town, and Dinan is a lovely medieval city well worth a visit, with the castle at the top and the harbour at the bottom. Combourg had a terrific market and beautiful castle. On the way back to the ferry we discovered fabulous beaches - huge and empty and strewn with shells- around Joulouville and Granville. But with children that age, why not stop for a day or two at Disneyland Paris?

Honfleur is lovely and need not be too expensive now that hotels have been opened on the edge of town, outside the historic district. For example, the B&B Hotel,

has rooms for 4 at 59 euros per night.
