Suggestions for 4 days in Barcelona with kids
Anyone have suggestions for our 4 days in Barcelona. And what's the public transportation from the airport to our hotel in the La Rambla area? Is it worth doing that or taking a cab?

If I were arriving in Barcelona after a long flight, with children, I'd take a taxi to the hotel. It's much easier than taking public transportation. You can also check with Aero City in Barcelona (www.aerocity.com/).

We weren't there with kids, but I imagine they might like the tram up to the top of Montjuic. And of course the beach! There are lots of nice parks in Barcelona, too, for picnics and running around.

We also taxied from airport so can't help with pub trans. Chocolate museum is interesting and fun. There was a nice chocolate/gift shop and cooking school attached when we were there.
The street performers on Rambla were pretty cool. Bring some coins to put in their hats. The mercato is worth a stop also-a beautiful market.

Take a taxi - with that amount of kids, you might want to contact where you are staying and ask them to send a vehicle that's large enough for your entire party.
Definitely head to the port - there is a great aquarium there that has a special section to play in at the end. Park Guell is fantastic. You might get jostled around a bit in such a large group while walking up Las Ramblas, but the kids will love the street performers and the small pets for sale. The cable car off Mont Juic is also a lot of fun.

What time of the year are you going? Barcelona has great parks for riding bikes and play around. Also, Barcelona offers something few cities offer; a cable car, tramway and uphill furnicular train for getting around. Kids will get a kick out of the funicular with great views of the port or at Parc Montjuic, great views of the city.
By the way, have you consider apartment stay instead of hotel?
