Suggestions for 2 day tour of Tuscany from Florence
My wife and i would like to take a two day lazy car tour of the Tuscan countryside from Florence. We would like suggestions for a small town that we can stay in for two nights and get the classic experience. We don't want to drive for more than an hour each way. Any suggestions? Thanks.

My very favorite area of Tuscany is southern Tuscany. This includes the very beautiful and typical hill towns of :
Montalcino
Pienza
Montepulciano
San Quirico d'Orcia
for starters. Any of these small towns would be a marvelous place for a two day trip and a fabulous introduction to the beauty that is Tuscany.
Enjoy.

Are you going to be tasting the wine? If so, you might want to consider hiring a driver/tour guide. This way you can be VERY lazy and drink all you want!
As stated above Montepulciano is a lovely spot as is Pienza.
I loved Panzano-in-Chianti, there were some lovely restaurants and wineries and cooking classes where we didnt need a car!
Perhaps what you save in car hire you could put towards a tour guide/driver.
A lunch at Ristoro di Lamole is highly recommended as it affords wonderful views over the Chianti. It is just near Vignamaggio, the purported birthplace of Lisa Gherardini (Mona Lisa).
Our tour guide was nathalie Panozzo, we really enjoyed our tour with her - [email protected]
Whatever you decide you will love Tuscany, I am very jealous!!
