stumbling over flights
We are trying to figure out how to get to Croatia for the trip we are planning. We are planning to leave from the US on Sunday May 20 and need to return on Friday June 1.(13 days including travel)
I hope to visit the Istria area, Hvar/Split area and Dubrovnik. I can find flights from Boston to London but then, I am uncertain about Croatia. My thought was to fly home from Dubrovnik to London and then to Boston but where can we fly into--I did notice that Venice was a reasonable price but then, there is a lot of travel time(?). I am hoping that our plans are doable and not too ambitious. Does anyone have some ideas? Thanks, Kathe

I like to use orbitz.com for comparison shopping, then go to the airline website for booking.
A quick check shows 1 stop flights from BOS to Zagreb through Amsterdam, Milan, Frankfurt, and Paris.
Nothing with 1 stop directly into Dubrovnik tho.

We went to Croatia in November and had a fabulous time. We flew from Chicago to London Heathrow/London Gatwick to Dubrovnik. We had to stay the night in London both going over and back to get our flights. Croatia was a bit of a challenge to get to, I'll admit, but so worth it!

Easyjet.com goes london/split. In a pinch you can take overnight ferry from central Italy. By June, there are a zillion budget airlines that connect Croatia to other points in Europe for practically free, but Easyjet may take advantage about May being not quite the competitive season yet.
