Bring what you would wear if spending a semester in a school at the Northeast USA (i.e. New York City). The average January temperatue range in the 40's, with the low temp in the 30's, getting warmer from there. Darker clothes, turtlenecks, jackets, plenty of wool scarves should help in the winter months.

As Chatters says; it can be very cold Jan/Feb. May and June can be very warm (or if you're unlucky, it can rain every day!).
Casual clothes, jeans, sweatshirts, as you would wear to college at home.

Hello Princess!
It might be a good idea to just bring a few warmer clothes to start with and buy stuff over here. If you come in January, the winter sales period will just have started. Perfect timing!

Brussels has some nice shops, and so does Antwerp, a short train ride away. And Paris is easily reached by train too. Just make sure you have a warm, rainproof coat for Jan/Feb, and a scarve and gloves.
Weather is very hard to predict; it can be cold, but we do not even have snow every year. It will certainly be colder than Singapore though!
