Street View comes to England
It's terrifying.
Practically every house, flat or set of rooms I've lived in in England from birth to my early 50s is now revealed on Google Street View, which covers almost all of Liverpool, London and Oxford. As well as 22 of the UK's minor towns and cities.
Including Scunthorpe.
But not - thank God - those parts of the Cotswolds where we value our privacy

A static picture taken of your house some months, or years, ago can't really be considered an invasion of privacy - unless you are doing something naughty in the window when the camera truck rolls by.
If anyone knew it was your house they could drive down the street and snap their own picture, or worse.....

Love it, love it, love it. Visit the site every day to check out the places and things we did while there; very sentimental. It's great for locating things you want to see, what stations, street names, etc. I can't say enough.

walkinaround brings up the irony of that - Britain is the most surveilled society in the world's history it seems - there are not CCTV cams in the Cotswolds - if not why are not the crooks running amok?
NIMBY at its worst in this case IMO

Who talks about NIMBYism? People who want to build in someone else's backyard.
Who's a NIMBY? Anyone with a backyard pleasant enough not to get destroyed for other people's benefit.

The reason there is no street view in the Cotswolds is mainly because of all that vapor which constantly rises out of the piles of sheepdip...the vapors obscure the camera angles. And to think that two-bit oracle at delphi had to be content with inhaling the vapors of some steam vent...
