A truly lovely city. Our favorite experience was visiting the Vasa Museum to tour an intact 17th century ship:

We also really enjoyed the Skansen - outdoor museum of Swedish homes, buildings and culture. The oldest of this type - other countries skansen museums were reportedly modeled after this one.

Walking everywhere - Old Town (Gamla Stan), City Hall(Stadtshesett, enjoyed a boat ride to Drottningholm Palace, city parks are filled with activity for people watching.
Hope you have a great trip.

We were there a few years back--lovely city! Agree about Wasa and Skansen, but mostly enjoyed the old town, Gamla Stan (sp?) and wandering around, including the city park with giant chessboard.
If time, try for a side trip to one of the islands, like Uto.
