Still looking for Rome...

Now that I have decided against Hotel Des Artistes(unless they modify their no refund policy) I am back to the drawing board. Is hte area near the Opera Theatre and Diocletian Baths to considered Termini? Has anyone ever stayed in Hotl Julia or Hotel CAmpo de Fiori?

Check the Rants and Raves section on this site for Campo dei Fiori. If I'm think of the right hotel, I think people said good location, but problems with noise.

Hi Sherry,
to decide which hotel is better in Rome I've always tried with a girl from Florence who has lived and still live and works in the big cities. You find her (cath) at [email protected]

Sherry,
I believe if I haven't gotten my streets mixed up that the Nardizzi Americana is located on the the same street as Hotel Des Artistes. We stayed at NA in June and although it is a budget hotel we had a lovely double room with bath. In the morning we had breakfast on the terrace which in the evening became the lounge. If you are looking for budget accomodation this is it. Our itinerary changed and we were able to switch the dates we needed to stay there without penalty.
Maureen

Sherry,

We stayed at Hotel Campo De' Fiori 3 years ago and are staying there again this year. Yes, it was noisy (people going home at night, singing, and the vendors setting up their booths in the morning). But we loved the rooftop terrace! Sitting out there at night is one of my favorite memories of Rome. An incredible view.

They don't have A/C or an elevator. The terrace is on the 6th floor, I believe. They do have breakfast in a type of cellar. This year we requested a room with a private bath in a less noisy area, I may take earplugs along just in case. But we chose to stay there again as the location is great, and of course, the rooftop!
Thanks for your replies everyone.
Maureen, do you have information on the Nardizzi Americana - I never heard of it? Do they have a website?
