Staying in Vincennes suburb

I may have an opportunity to spend a week or two with a friend in the SunTerra Royal Regency timeshare. I know nothing of this area and am wondering if anyone has stayed there, what there is to do in that area, and how long it takes on the Metro to get to the Louvre, for instance. Having been intimidated by the Metro for my prior 3 trips to Paris, obviously I'm going to be "unintimidated" this trip! Apparently, Chateau Vincennes is Line 1. I have tried to print out the Metro map but it's too big for my screen.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Yup line 1 to the Louvre-Rivoli stop on ligne 1.

There is also RER A service from vincennes but it's farther from the Chateau area but faster but you'd still have to change at Chatelet-Les Halles to line 1, though C-L-Halles is a pleasant walk from the Louvre.

Vincennes - a rather pleasant area bordering the vast Bois de Vincennes, with miles and miles of walking paths. the town is vibrant.

I stayed there about ten years ago. It is a very nice town full of locals Lots of shops and bakeries. Getting into Paris was easy and took about a half hour.

Hi, Joy
We're scheduled to stay there end of September beginning of October of this year. What is your time frame?

Hi Treesa -- as far as I know right now, sometime in November. I'll be watching for a trip report when you return! Particularly interested in restaurants in that area, how easy the Metro was, markets, shopping, the Bois, Chateau, what to see and do in Vincennes itself, and anything else you found to be of interest. Also, your impressions of Royal Regency and anything we might need to know. Obviously, we'll spend our days in central Paris (all have been there before), but may want dinner in Vincennes some nights after returning.

Enjoy!
