Staying in Praiano for a week in September

I have enjoyed reading about others experiences while on the Amalfi Coast but missed if anyone had walked the Path of the Gods? Particularly from Praiano up to Ravello? We're also planning a day to attend a "cooking class" - and wondered if any had thoughts on that as well? (So many questions!) Additionally - if anyone had thoughts on good day/bad day to do Pompeii and Herculeum (we're under the assumption that both can be done on the same day). Thanks in advance for any advice!

maylmer,

A few years ago there was a thread here about hiking on the Amalfi Coast and as I remember they mentioned a hiking guide called something like The Sunflower Guide. Try a search using those words.

No - I would not try to do Pompeii and Herculaneum in one day. Pompeii is HUGE and exhausting.

Dayle,
Thanks so much for your reply, I will look for The Sunflower Guide. And I really appreciate your insights on Pompeii.
Grazie mille ~

Maylmer:We were on the AC last september(and wrote a report; one week.
We were based in aamalfi and I know there is a hicking pass up to Ravello(and of course down from Ravello).
Praiano is to the north of Amalfi, thus further from Ravello, and I think, too far to make a walk, but you can search the Path of the Gods, may be I am wrong.
You can be sure you will enjoy your week at the AC!!!

jelopez33,
I will look forward to reading your report, thank you! And perhaps you are right, I will most definitely read up on the Path prior to our adventure! I honestly cannot wait to arrive - my fear is I'll never want to leave! Che bello giornatta ~

You can do great walks from Ravello down to Amafi or in other directions, but this is separate from the Path of the Gods which starts in Bomerano and ends in Positano (going above Praiano so you can also walk up to catch it from Praiano or take the bus up to either end).
