P.S. Eks - IF Metro del Mare re-start their usual low-season MM2 hydrofoil service, that would be your earliest option by sea:
Dep 08.45 Amalfi
Arr. 09.15 Salerno
N.B. This service docks in Salerno at Molo Manfredi, NOT Piazza della Concordia.
(- bus or taxi to railway station)
This service is normally up and running now - but their website says its currently suspended.
It should re-start any day soon here's the link:

Samjam - The timetable I posted above IS the local Salerno-Amalfi ferry service.
[The alternative would be hydrofoil from Molo Manfredi - but there is no low-season lunchtime departure
www.metrodelmare.com ]
If you don't want to wait until the 14.10 ferry, there is a 12.45 SITA bus to Amalfi (- journey time: 75 mins):

Or ... the alternative for a better connection in Salerno would be an earlier train from Rome, of course
Hope this helps ...

As I understand it, the ferries don't run when the sea is rough. Not to speak of strikes, always a possibility in Italy.
Neither is too likely during your visit, but I would have alternative plans just in case.
