I just thought - you can get to Euston for Passfield Hall vis the Stansted Express and Tottenham Hale, as well. Whether that's better for you depends on your valuation of your time and any incidental hassle using the tube.

Thanks PatrickLondon! We've decided to keep our booking at a hotel close to the Victoria Station.

If I were staying near Victoria Station, I would certainly take the National Express bus rather than the Stansted Express train. Whatever time you save by taking the train would be lost getting from Liverpool Street station to Victoria Station: at least half an hour.

When I stay near Victoria Station, I walk from the Coach station to my hotel.

@bvlenci.. aaahh.. we've already bought our tickets for stansted express - as they had a really cheap advanced fare.

I thought we explained up,thread that the stansted express only makes sense for some parts of London and that the national express coach is much better if one is headed to Victoria. Just a hint, when one asks for advice, it is usually good to heed at least some of it.

You would never do this though. You'd get off the Stansted Express at Tottenham Hale, which is on the Victoria Line, and travel direct to Victoria from there.

@janisj - Yes I've been taking the advice and reading them thoroughly. The reason why we had a great price:

Standard Class Return
Low-cost 30 day Advance Fare
£30.00 for 2 adults

But you could have got all the way to Victoria for less than £30 . . . Like £24 or less.

I think you may have glommed on to a few posters to accept their advice and ignored the others.

You will have a great trip, but you are on a very tight budget and some suggestions really are not that cost effective or practical.

£15 return for the Stansted Express vs £12 for the coach per person isn't a huge difference so I wouldn't sweat it. Also, the coach takes twice as long (2hrs), vs circa 30 mins to Tottenham Hale + 20 mins on the tube, so you will have saved time if not money. If that's still an issue for you you can remember the coach for next time
