I will be atking a crusie to St. Petersburg next year. Doesanyone have a reccomendation for a tour company? I have read abut Den Rus and Alla and Ulko. Any others? Better?

There are quite a few local tour companies in St. Petersburg. You can get a lot of info about them on cruisecritic forum. Personally I had good experience with Palladium Travel.

If you are in a group of at least four, I highly recommend http://dancing-bear-tours.com. Julia will be your guide and Vladimir will drive in their mini-van. They will customize your tour, provide you with the visa invitations, and will also make your evening arrangements for ballet or folkloric presentations. Typically, they also will stop at local restaurants not patronized by the large tours.

Julia is personable, knowledgeable, and has formed a relationship with the tourist spots that will lead to your spending very little time waiting for entrances. With a group of 4, or more, you can expect to have very extensive tours at about half the cost of the ship's tours.
