We will arrive in St. Malo on the ferry from Portsmouth, UK. We want to see Mont St. Michel th next day. Do you have any suggestions for transportation other than a car to get to our destination? How much time do we need to see the key sights in Mont St.Michel?

We took the ferry. but had our own car. You need to be there early in the morning, before the buses arrive. (9 Am ) it gets very crowded. this site site may be helpful.

Three to fours hours is enough time to see everything on the Mont. The only things to see are the abbey and then stroll the alleyways and the one main street.

It is a pleasant drive from St. Malo. Get one of the simple small books on MSM when you're there, climb up to the top, check everything out, and have a good time.

I'd climb earlier than later, as it does thin out the higher you go.

Don't expect to find much in food at MSM, though it's there, but not easy to discern.
