St. Andrews - 3 days

I will tour the Old Course day three. I have a town tour booked on day two. The first day my husband will be driven to Carnoustic golf links. Do I ride with him or stay in St. Andrews? Should I see the Glamis Castle, or the additional cost to Pitlochry and the Blair castle? Go my own direction to Falkland? Fodors recommends all of the above.
I will have already seen the Edinburgh Castle and Hoylrood Palace. Will I be on Castle over load? Thank you for your advice.

We visited both Glamis and Falkland and LOVED both. However, we were completely taken with Falkland Palace and the grounds. Either way, though, you can't go wrong!

Thanks for your advice. Sounds like I should flip a coin.... If I'm in history over load what activity might I try - hike, bike ?

Well, I'm a history junkie...we visited about 4 castles/cathedrals a day when we visited the last 2 times so other than history (and pubs....lots of pubs...) I'm of no help! I do think you could do both Glamis and Falkland in one day-but my memory could be way off!

Also if you'd like to email me I'll send you the link to our photos from Glamis and Falkland (Scotland in general)...

Jack Nicklaus is playing in his last Tournament on the Old Course today.
Will be an emotional day for us all - what a great man and a wonderful example of the way true champion sportsmen behave. Sadly, golf appears to be one of the last basions of sportsmanship.
