Spending Time - 5 hrs
Hello,
We get in Madrid at 8am and our train leaves from Seville at 1:30pm. We plan to take the airport express to the station - and then we have a few hours to spend. Question for you - is there a place we can leave our bags and go out an explore? Would love to get your thoughts on options.
Thanks,
D

Do you really have 5 hours? Is 8a.m. your flight arrival time? If so, then you only have about 3 hours.
Another thread asking similar question. In the area of the Acocha train station is - the top 3 museums, walk to Plaza Major, the Anton Martin food market, stretch your legs in Retiro park. A quick look at a map gives you the possibilities.

There is a security check before boarding trains..
Atocha is a big station...you need to be at the station ( especially if your luggage is stored) in good time.i
If you ar taking the train from the airport, it leaves only from T4... takes about 30min. If you take the bus ( stops at all terminals) ,could be longer.

>Renovation works of Line 8 - Metro Madrid will be carrying out renovation works on Line 8, which will provide it with better indices of safety, comfort and an increase in the efficiency in maintenance tasks. The works, which will affect the 16.5 km of the line, will start on 26 January, and will last until 18 April next.<
If you are planning on arriving before the 18th, then you'll have to take the airport bus or a taxi to Atocha.
