I have read many marvelous reviews and recommendations for Palazzo del Capitano, though I have never stayed there. Nice to hear yet another glowing rec. Have a good time yourself in France (where to?). We visited Provence for about a week a year ago and found it really beautiful. My husband compared it "ever-so-slightly and gingerly" to Tuscany (LOL - because he KNOWS there is nothing in the world, especially for me, like Tuscany!!) by saying that it is truly a beautiful area and lovely. But if in Tuscany we went "WOW" and "AAAAAH" at every turn, here in Provence it was sort of a lilting slow fizz of beauty, never a great big WOW, always just melting beauty into itself. I don't know if I was able to convey properly his feelings but that is about what it was like for us both.
