Spain: Will I need an International Driving License?

I'm going to rent a car for a week in Spain. Do you advise I have an International Driving License in my possession?

definitely not necessary legally.
you may drive on your U.S./British/EU license for 6 months in spain.
but if you are wandering outside the EU, best to have it.

What you could need is a translation of your drivers license. For spending hundreds of dollars for a trip ten more wont break you. There was an eariler post regarding the laws pointing to a URL. Most will not ask for it but they could and fine you if you do not have a translation.
If you have AAA call them. They can just send you one before you leave. Better to have it, but I have rented on without it easily as well.
