Spain in April
So I am considering Madrid and other areas of Spain like Valencia with 4 kids ages 4,6,8 and 10 month old.
Was going to go in end of June but now considering Easter and pulling kids out of school 5 days so total 15 nights. Will be cheaper and I like feeling like I could live there instead of tourist.
I really wanted my kids to have beach, lake or pool something fun for them too. Besides southern Spain any other recommendations? Is Madrid hot towards end of April? I have heard it can be hot there at this time.
Looking for apartments with airconditioning seems to be difficult unless in big cities and I can survive no air during the day but at night can't sleep with hot and stuffy rooms so non negotable.
Thank you

The hotel pools usually do not open before May 1 in Spain, not even in Andalucia (the exception are beach hotels in seaside resorts, there the pools will be open from the beginning of the season which starts a week before Easter).
If you rent a vacation home with pool make sure whether the pool is open and whether it is heated. Often in April, you find the pool dry and empty.
Swimming in the Atlantic will not be possible in April, and in the Mediterranean Sea only at the more Southern beaches. At the Mediterranean Andalucian beaches, seawater will be warm enough for swimming, also the beaches of Mallorca. Whether Valencia will be warm enough, I am not sure. All lakes in Europe will be too cool.
The air temperatures by end of April can vary. Madrid, due to altitude, can be pretty cold by end of April but you can also catch warm days. Same for Barcelona. Valencia will tend to the warmer side. For really nice temperatures, go to Andalucia. In any case, the nights will be chilly. You will not need a/c this time of year.
Think about travelling to Mallorca. It is a fine island and has excellent beaches and nice weather by end of April.

We were in Madrid once in the end of April and the temp was 99. Not what we expected since Andalusia have been in the mid 80s (plenty hot enough for me).
I don't think Madrid is usually that hot then - but obviously it can happen.

April in Spain is delightful weather-wise. Warm, not hot. Not swimming time, unless you're from Scandinavia or other parts north. Valencia would be a good place for the kids to play on the beach and for the adults to do some sightseeing. A/C is not needed anywhere.

Andalusia has always been plenty hot for swimming and the hotel pools have been open at least from mid April on - at least for our trips.
Not sure where Scandinavia comes into it - and waters that are not oddly heated by the gulf stream - instead of a normal ocean temperature.
