Spain for the first time
Myself and a few buddies of mine are planning a trip to Spain in June. What cities are good to go to for people who have never been to Spain before. I should mention that we're all about 22 and we are trying to keep costs down, expensive hotels don't excite us, we don't mind being frugal with our travel plans. So far I've heard that Barcelona is a good place to go to with good nightlife as well. Any advice, feel free to email.

What kind of things do you want to do and see (other than nightlife)? Are you into art, architecture, history, scenery, etc.? How long do you plan to stay? Let us know, and we might be able to offer some helpful advice.

By the way (helpful advice for your future endeavors), it's "Some buddies and I are planning ..."

spain is a great place for people your age (and other ages ) -i have been there 17 times in the last 23 years.my recommendations are : barcelona , madrid ,seville and as a final stop over try some small coastal town (like Nerja --very laid back , peaceful and beautiful with more than adequate night-life-sounds like jose is a grammar nerd

We just returned from a 2 week trip. 2 adults + 1 infant backpacking on the cheap. We stayed in under $50 hostels(and these are ensuits with toilets) and had reasonably good meals(nothing cold and out in the streets). One can definitely get by with under $80 a day(incl lodging, food + expenses) very comfortably.

I highly recommend Sevilla, which was my favorite city in Spain. Lots of great nightlife in addition to the sights. Great, hip restaurants and bars in the old city, with a more relaxed and open feeling from the locals. I know it sounds insane, but there's a cuban restaurant in sevilla called Habanita, and aside from the great food, it was so much fun seeing all of the 20-somethings dressed up for a night on the town. it was buzzing with a great energy. good sangria too!
