Spain and France
I was wondering if anyone can give myself and family (2 adults and 2 teenagers!!) some guidance? we are looking to take our caravan over to Spain drive through head in to France then ferry back to the UK, we have 3 weeks to do this?
Our rough plan at the moment is to get the ferry over to Bilboa then make our way down from there, one area we definately would like include is Estartit in Spain as we have family in this area.
Ideally driving time between 3 to 5 hours each move with a 2 to 3 night stop over at different caravan sites?
Any ideas or experiences would be very much appreciated, as this would be our first time of caravanning/road tripping abroad before.
Thanks

Hi cassabooboo,
I've never done this with a caravan, but I've done plenty of touring round France and also a bit in Northern Spain. your plan looks very doable in - we did a tour that took us through France and northern Spain and back on the boat to Plymouth in 2 weeks not 3.
As well as Bilbao, there is the alternative of Santander as the entry/exit point to northern Spain - the Brittany Ferry boats are terrific.
as for caravan sites, have you looked at the caravan club website? looks as if they have some very useful info:

good luck!

They just wrote me and they didn't give me the names but they really enjoyed the entire coast up past Barcelona to France, too. Sorry I can't give you any exact places.. they just enjoy fairly secluded beaches and low building structures surrounding them (if there must be buildings).
