Thank you both. I feel better now about the language thing.

Richard, the Krakow in your pocket guide looks great. Thanks much!

Great report. Brought back memories of our trip in '05 to Poland, Slovakia, Czech..., Hungary. Wonderful times.

Since I have been a terrible slacker in getting a full blown report written I surely must note the restaurant we went to twice while in Krakow

The owner and her staff were delightful and food was delish!

LuvToRoam,

ANXIOUSLY awaiting your trip report. We head to Poland at the end of September.

Warsaw, Krakow and ???. I can't decide between Zakopane, Szczawnica or a different countryside local.

Thanks, the turnip

Definitely Zakopane. Krupówki is the most interesting street in this city, moreover there are a lots of other attractions especially in summer or winter. Otherwise it's a few kilometres from Krakow.

Thanks sooo much for your itinerary for south Poland !!!! You saved me form being rather overwhelmed with all the planning
I'm of Polish decent and I'm taking my 3 daughters to Poland (we live in New Zealand) for 2 weeks. A once a life time trip. I wanted to just do the south including Krakow and your trip sounds great.
Just a question - what was your car hire company and was it a good deal?

Thanks again

Hello Frania. We paid $54/day (US) for our ten day rental from AutoEurope. It was a 4-door economy (EDMR code). An Airport rental but would be less if you picked the car up from a Krakow downtown location. If you have any other questions best to email us as we do not check this thread with regularity any more.
