Southampton to London

We will end our cruise in Southampton and need to get to London City. I checked the National express webbsite and note that busses leave from the coach station, Harbour Parade. Does anyone know if one can walk (with luggage)or how to get from the cruise terminal to the coach station?

No, none of the berths used by cruise ships is within walking distance of the bus station or railway station. You'd need to take a taxi (there probably isn't a bus stop near the cruise ship).
Trains are much quicker and run every half hour from Southampton Central to London Waterloo.

Thanks for the feedback. Do I have to take a taxi to the train station?

From Waterloo, you can go on the tube to Canning Town (Eastbound Jubilee Line, going towards Stratford). From there you can get on the DLR to the airport. For transport news check:

This is 6 years old...so...do you still have to take a taxi to get to the National express train station.

Yes. And the train is still quicker (the train and coach station are within walking distance of each other)

This page might help

I meant to add, there is a National Express stop at the Cruise Terminal, but buses are few and far between (one a day at around 8:30 or 9am)
