South of France - What to do in Sanary Sur Mer?

Hi,

I'll be taking a windstar cruise in September that stops for the day in Sanary Sur Mer?
Do you have any recommendations on things to do or see while we are there? Or any places that we can visit nearby on our own?
We'll be there from 8 AM to 5 PM.

Thank you for your responses

-Alexandra

Sanary is a delightful little fishing village. Don't know if they have one daily but when we were there, there was a nice market to photo and shop at. If you get bored you can probably take some form of local transportation (even a cab) to Bandol, another nice little coastal town, this one with a beautiful marina and nice boats--or even go as far as Cassis (I'd guess about 40 km up the coast toward Marseille) and take a boat from there to explore the calanques, fjord-like inlets with beautiful blue waters and steep cliffs. I hope someone with experience with local transport will also respond and give you a better idea of how all this might be done. We've always had a car when we've been in that area. At any rate, if you were "stuck" for the whole day in Sanary Sur Mer, it would still be a nice stop. Picturesque and relaxing. Some nice little harbor area restaurants also available.
