Our cruise ship will be stopping in Villefranche (Nice), France for about 12 hours in October. Am interested in the best suggestions for sightseeing, shopping, markets, etc. What about Monte Carlo, Monaco, Cannes? Since we will be there for such a short period of time, your help would be appreciated. Thanks!

wander around the old part of the city....visit the russian church in the southern part of town, walk along the waterfront...

sorry i didn't read the lead in...thought that you were in nice...villefrance is different...down the road a piece...it in itself is lovely

While in Nice we visited Villefranche and took a walking tour through the tourist information office. We especially enjoyed the old fort with an art exhibit (modern statues - sorry can't remember the artist's name). The town is picturesque.

More enjoyable was Eze which is a short shuttle bus ride up the mountain. Charming village, upscale gift and art shops, magnificant views, nice places to eat with views, and a church. Also where the perfume factory is located although we didn't bother as we had been in another.

Haven't been to Monte Carlo, Monaco, or Cannes so can't help you there.
