If this works for others, let's start to plan 3 p.m. on Saturday March 5, Bay Yacht Club, Hwy 1 (Federal Hwy), in Pompano Beach. No webcam but maybe we can send cell phone pix to those who provide e-mail addresses. Now, all we need to do is expand the guest list. Come on, all you folks in Miami, Palm Beach, and Yeehaw Junction, get in on the fun. We would love to have you join us for food, fun and travel talk.

OK, hope we're on for March 5. Got my tickets for Coconut Grove Playhouse on March 4, and a free room at the C. Grove Residence Inn for that night, and have booked a free room at the Marriott North Ft. Lauderdale for Saturday.

Let's get this back up to the top and see if we can't get some more So. FL residents or visitors interested in attending this--3 p.m. on Saturday March 5 in Pompano Beach just north of Ft. Lauderdale. We should be able to get some folks from Palm Beach, Miami and other places on the east coast--especially if Patrick can come all the way over from Naples. Let's hear from others. Can you make it?

This is Julie Vikmanis posting from my daughter's computer. Let's pop this up to the top every now and then to see if we can't get more people to attend this gathering as the time gets nearer. If we're definite about having this at my place in Pompano Beach anyone who plans to come should e-mail me at valdisvikmanis at comcast.net (@sign not used to discourage spammers who might be just trolling through posts for addresses--or am I paranoid?) and I'll send address and directions to my condo. I've promised chili and muffalettas. Others have offered to bring libations and chips, etc. Budman has offered to send a couple of bottles of his personal label. So we'll have a tasting.

Maybe we need to repost on both forums "March 5 Fodorites in Ft. Lauderdale". With all the visitors this time of years, there might be a number of visiting Fodorites who would love to attend, just as I did once when visiting Los Angeles. I don't think they'd be looking at a thread titled this way.

I'm going to look for the list of e-mail addresses I had from the Naples GTG and see if we can't get some more of those folks interested in "movin' on up/over to the east side."
