Perhaps the song was "Figlio Perduto" by Sarah Brightman? It's on her La Luna CD and you can listen to a clip on the Amazon site. Her intro is longer than Sacris Solemnis.

qqqsal- you got it. I had already ordered and received the Lumiere CD with Sacris Solemnis but now after listening to this one, I think you are right. Thank you everyone for your input and your understanding of my mission to find the song. I do think the airlines could have more complete playlists in their flight magazines. Thanks again. Chris
Artlover-did you ever find your music?

No, still don't know what it is. E-mailed British Airways (but can appreciate how this may not be on their "A" list to answer.) My husband thinks it may be from Puccini (sp?), so maybe I'll get some of our opera CDs and check them out and let you know when I find out if no one else out there knows.

Whoops, I'm getting my italian songs all mixed up. Guess I haven't had enough coffee yet this morning. The song is O Mio Bambino Caro. Ciao

Good ear, Katherine! I'm impressed.

I just received a long e-mail from British Airways re. this piece (I tried to paste it here, but am not computer literate enough to do it). Basically they said that two versions of the Flower Duet from Lakme are used, one arraged especialy for BA, the other done by their advertising agency in London. An interpretation called "Aria" is included in Yanni's album Dare to Dream and a similar version in CD Diva! A Soprano at the Movies, as well as in the complete opera featuring Joan Sutherland.

Really impressed someone at BA took the time and trouble to rely all this info.

artlover, I'm happy that you found your song too. It's also one of my favorites. After talking with the BA people I ordered the CD which includes the Flower Duet and some other really nice pieces: its called Classical Chillout. I, too, was amazed to receive a reply to my email. Chris

There are thousands of channel 9s. Are you from Britain? I have not heard the song but I love the music on the Dove commercial in the US.

Chris I wish I could take credit! But I cannot...I download music all the time from Kazaa Lite. In the search function I put in British Airways. By the way, the other song I mentioned was a version done by Malcolm McLaren and Yanni. I am not a lover a New Age but this one was really good. Check it out...

Thanks Chris and Katherine for you help. It was fun. Even though I couldn't find it by myself, I've started listening to Madame Butterfly again, which is really fun!

Well, I will know where to come next time I am racking my brain trying to think of a song. I use Kazaa too, it's great for trying pieces to see if they are the ones you were looking for. Cheers, Chris
