Hello Monica
I'm sad for you that you were turned away as a solo diner, but I can reassure you that you wont have any problems in Paris, i've dined alone many times in Paris and never once had a problem, good luck with your travels and I hope you enjoy your trip to Paris
Lucie

Reservations. Especially for dinner. I was in Bologna this past November. I was able to walk in for lunch without any problems but for dinner, I made sure to have reservations. I made the reservation for 1 person and had no problems at all. As much as I would love to wing dinner plans I've learned not to leave it to chance (and that also goes for NYC, Philadelphia, LA, etc)

Monica,
If you like Moroccan food, L'Atlas, 12 blvd Saint Germain was great and a fun atmosphere. I had an appetizer alone (because I was hungry and couldn't wait until agreed dinner time), was perfectly comfortable, and returned a couple of hours later with a companion. Yummy couscous, delicious lamb entrees. I believe the restaurant that we dined together at on another night, prior to my solo lunch at Balzar was on one of those small streets perpendicular to St Michel. We had walked up rue des Ecoles from Balzar, right on St Michel, and down the first or second narrrow street on the right you'll notice only one or two restaurants that have outside dining areas. It sounds vague, but it's a very small, intimate neighborhood. You'll enjoy yourself, I am sure!

Funny, Monica, that after all travels all over the world, you'd be treated so badly all one one night, in one city. Well, let that be the last of that nasty business forever!
If only they knew they would be written up on this board and on your website for all to see, they would have been more hospitable. Pigs!
Go get 'um, Girl!
