Judy: swoosh is gone. The NEW brand screen name is swoosher (my earlier post got changed to swooshed by autocorrect and I didn't notice)
Swoosh/swoosher is pulling your leg.
Rialtogirl: having ice cream 30 times is fine . . . But NOT in August when the shop is closed . . .

"Swoosh/swoosher"
Well that explains that. Just goes to show un-invested I am.
"Even if she had it (ice cream at Berthillon) 20 times, I wouldn't think it was too weird"
Neither would I.
On recent trips to Venice, I've been swapping homes with a dear friend I know from the film industry. His fabulous casa is just off Calle Lunga near Campo San Barnaba.
I've been a fan of Franco Colussi's baking talent for a decade or two, and since I was conveniently positioned around the corner from his famous pasticceria, I found myself stopping by every day to say hello to Franco, his daughter Linda, and his granddaughter Marina. If you love great food like I do, you can't enter Franco's little shop of culinary confections without sampling an item or two. The freshly baked aromas in the air are intoxicating. A visit a day in a three week period adds up to 21 visits. Some days I visited twice. I see no reason to question someone's love for a particular item that can only be found in one special location.
Dear Swoosh, I'm not a fan of fiction. I never buy it or take much time to read it. The library in my home features mostly non-fiction and research. But tons of people love to read fiction, so I see no reason to stop dreaming a dream, if that one is yours.
I've been on this board for many years. If you want to survive and help others by sharing your experiences, you have to learn how to deal with the stalker haters. Remember, the most important thing in writing is to find readers. It doesn't matter what they say. It doesn't matter if someone calls you a liar, a fake, or even a man. All that matters is your words get read. IMO, any comment on your writing, no matter how awful, can be taken as a compliment. What good is putting words to paper if no one reads them?

Well, I see that swoosh's attempt to revive and continue her trip report has been deleted again. This is really rediculous. I think I've finally had it with the mean-spiritedness, narrowmindedness and downright nastiness which seem to have overtaken this board. And the editors who are inconsistent and incomprehensible. Time to move on...
I've been checking out the tripadvisor forum and it seems very helpful and pleasant enough so far.

They probably would have left it if she would left out the one post where she strikes back at everyone who had hassled her and/or not believed her. I don't think the moderators here care enough to really research it, they just don't have time to deal with a bunch of triangle hitters.
Maybe she'll publish it on slowtrav.

rialtogirl: 'triangle hitters' do not get threads deleted -- nor profiles nuked for that matter. Clicking the triangle does call something to their attention - but many things are 'triangled' and never deleted. And MANY things are deleted w/o ever being triangled.
It is 100% the moderators' call.

baladeuse, I've been posting on Trip Advisor for the decade I've been here on Fodor's. Each board has it's pros and cons. I'm truly shocked to see a long-time poster leaving the forums over swoosh. Plus remember you don't know if the editors pulled it, or if he/she asked to have it removed.
