Sofitel in NIce

I just booked the sofitel in Nice through Priceline for three nights in mid Sept. The location doesn't seen ideal but I'm curious about what others think. I got it for $100 US a night so the price was better than anything else I could find.

Hi Trish

Because we are hoping to go to Nice next year, I checked tripadvisor.com for traveler's reviews, and they seem pretty good. Most of the complaints I quickly glanced at weren't over serious issues like comfort and cleanliness.

And the rate is so good for Nice at that time of year... I think you will be happy.

Never thought I'd see the Sofitel show up on this board. I stayed there the night before meeting my friend who was flying in from the States. It was just fine! A very nice place to stay. While I wouldn't spend a ton of time there, it was nice and clean and everyone was very helpful.

The best part is it is just a block or two from the promenade, albeit the southern end of the promenade.

For the money you can't beat it!

Sofitels are very good in general. They're at the top of the Accor Hotels chain, which includes the Novotel and Mercure operations.

Another suggestion is the Hi Hotel. Very contemporary and a decor experience in itself. If you're looking for something different it's worth a stay. Just a thought.

Thanks everyone, like I said I bought it through Priceline and whenever I do get a hotel from them I have a momentary sense of panic since I can't refund it but it always has worked out fine and hopefully this hotel will too.

HI Trish! Don't you just LOVE Priceline! I know I do! I also won Sofitel from Priceline for our trip in Nice also. I think I got it for $103 per night. I'll be there in mid-July, high season, (and on Bastille day). The price is awesome! With tax and fees, I calculated its about 70 Euro per night...amazing! I'll let you know all about it when I return!
