Soccer In Paris
Hello! We are traveling to Paris in September and my husband is interested in attending a soccer game while there. Can anyone tell me about going to a game featuring Paris St. Germaine? Is it fun? Is the atmosphere similar to the World Cup with fans singing and chanting (we know it's a far cry from the WC)? How hard is it to get tickets? How much are tickets etc. The team website is obviously in French so I can decipher some of it but not all. Thanks for the input!

jbjayhawk,
Hopefully someone will get back to you with specific advice about PSG, but in the meantime...
I don't know exactly when you'll be in Paris but the French national team are playing the Italian national team at the Stade De France (in St. Denis, a Parisian suburb) on 6 September. This is a qualifying match for the 2008 European Championship & would be a great match to attend. The Stade De France is acknowledged as one of Europe's greatest stadiums & I'd imagine it would be a better atmosphere than a PSG game.
Here's a link to the English language section of the Stade De France website -if you're interested you can buy the match tickets on line;

PSG plays Marseille on September 9th (or more probably the 10th) but the stadium will be completly full. Do not hope for a seat. Furthermore the atmosphere will be "hot" as these 2 teams have some history
On September 23rd, PSG will play Nancy. There should be no problem to get a seat for this one
