Soccer game in October in Rome? TOTTI :-)

Does anyone know if the season for soccer runs during october for the stadio olimpico in rome? Saw a fantastic game, roma v. inter last march and it was incredible. Loved seeing Totti play live and not on TV. I'd like to see another game if anyone has any info, I'd appreciate it!

Fixture list isn't out yet, I think. They had to change the start of the season a couple of times due to the late finish of the Olympics football final on Aug 28. Now set to start on September 12. Keep your eyes peeled on www.asroma.it

Thanks Alec! My friend in Rome bought us tickets last time so I was in the dark about where the schedule was located. Thanks again!

yviebee, don't know if you live anywhere in the NYC area, but AS Roma is playing vs. Liverpool on August 3rd at Giants Stadium. I'm sure tickets are still available. I've got mine! Forza Roma!!

Hi tpatricco!
Acutally I live in boring Arizona! Besides, I rather enjoy the lack of "rules" in the stadium more in Italy. U.S. stadiums are so uptight, I mean what's the big deal if we want to unbolt our seats and throw them into the crowd of the opposing team? Is that so wrong? I don't know if I would enjoy the game as much if we couldn't smoke, drink, and throw things in the stadium, and take part in a mad stampede of tiffosi! But that's just me! Did you watch the European cup games? What a let down about Italy. Thanks for the tip!

yviebee, when I'm in Italy, I'd love to go to Olimpico to see the giallorossi play...but I won't miss the chance to see them when they're 30 minutes from home here in NJ either! They are playing at a few other venues in the US on the summer tour...not sure if any are in or near AZ though.

I don't understand...

Who or what are "Chelsea Blues" & "Liverpool Reds"

Why the rather desperate attempts at rebranding for the North American market; none of the other teams has done this.... are Chelsea and Liverpool suffering from a little inferiority complex? (which, given by their distant 4th position at the end of the 2003-2004 season I can understand of Liverpool )

Going to be in Rome in early November. I'm hoping to make a Serie A game.

Are tickets usually availble up to game time? Are they even availible for the general public, and are they safe?

I know in Holland some teams/games you had to have a special card or pass to attend in their attempt to minimize hooliganism. Anything of the sort in Italy?

I have no interest in or understanding of soccer, but from the words "Forza Roma" in the following thread, which was posted only yesterday, I assume that it gives the 2004-2005 calendar of games in which Roma participates:

ACoronado78,

Here's a link to a website which you should find useful:

Hope this helps,

Dr. DoGood-Liverpool is referred to as the Reds all of the time. And as the most successful team in British footballing history, there's no inferiority complex there.

Ann - I'm fully aware that Liverpool are called The Reds... but I have never, ever seen or heard of them referred to as Liverpool Reds - a nomenclature with equivalence to Man Utd or Sheffield Wednesday or Plymouth Argyle as though it were part of their proper name? I think not. Ditto Chelsea Blues.
I suspect that this is an effort to jazz up the names Liverpool & Chelsea for the US market where it seems usual for sports teams to bear not only their locale but also an additional flag of some description (vis. Dallas Cowboys, NY Giants, etc etc.)
It's noticeable that the only teams that have bben appended Reds or Blues are those with one word names its not Celtic FC "Hoops" or AS Roma "Reds"
