So much to see so little time!
I read some posts on here and people suggested doing what I want to do. Seeing as much of europe as possible in 7 weeks and then picking places I would like to return to. I am flying into rome and have 7 weeks to see as much of europe as possible. 2 days in each city max. I for sure want to see Italy of course, spain , greece , amsterdam , germany , Prague , Budapest , Romania . Any ideas or must see places. or maybe a suggestion for the most efficient route? Any tips would be great. First time doing this alone.

Planning 2 days (<b>max</b
in each city isn't very realistic since it will take at least 1/2 a day just to move from one city to the next. Often it eats up a full day when you factor in getting to the city center and checking in to a new hotel. It can take a day or two in many cities just to get one's bearings.

You may not have gotten a lot of responses because of the nature of the trip you're planning. Seven weeks of seeing each city for only two days sounds like you'll be seeing more of trains & planes than anything else. I don't think that I could even remember where I was from city to city!

I was assuming when TheLover says 2 days, he means he'll book 3 nights in each place, which will leave 2 full days there -- travel time falls between each 3 night destination. At least that's normally the minimum I'd consider (other than for a stop in a tiny town).

Yes it is, and while it might seem like a total blur to some, I'd say that "seeing" (not fully exploring) 15 cities in 7 weeks could be a very exciting and rewarding overview of much of Europe. I wouldn't hesitate. I would limit it to 15 maximum, and there might even be a couple of places to just spend two nights and add a fourth to other places.
First question, must you return to Rome to fly home?

am about to embark on a trip ourselves, and I can tell you, you might want to spend more time on a particular city, and maybe skip another city altoghether.
Maybe spend more time in bigger cities/places ....
and won't it stress you too much if you would have to go to another city just 2 days after arriving?

Hi TL,
Have you ever been on the road for 7 weeks before?
Before buying a railpass, enter your itinerary at www.railsaver.com. It will tell you which pass to buy.
I look forward to your trip report.
Will you be in Belgium on a Tuesday?

..your trip sounds like a self directed bus trip..so get on the tour bus or slow down. My first adult trip was as a student. I had 4 months..our thoughts were similar to your before we left..we quickly modified and became travellers rather than tourists. keep our options open..a rail pass that can be interupted ect..do less and see more for a magical trip..otherwise get on the tour bus or just flip pictures of the sights..you are blessed with 7 weeks use them well.

I really just want to see as much as possible. Just see is really it , sit down eat a meal, drink a beer and hit up a local club. Then onto the next place in the AM or even that night. I am not looking at this as a vacation but as an adventure. The rail pass will deff benefit me just on going to amsterdam, spain and greece.
