Like I said, I'd be happy to help, but I've never been to one of these before, so don't know how they work. Is it just picking a restaurant and going from there? That doesn't seem so difficult...

The first two GTG's were potlucks at my home. The third one was a BBQ where everyone brought something to cook. It was not as successful as the first two. The advantage of a potluck at someone’s home is that it gives everyone much greater opportunity to meet and talk with everyone. Last summer I was unable to host another one but could now if that is the consensus. My only problem is seating for everyone if a large number come. The first and second ones had about 18 people so I rented chairs and a fold up table. I have received two e-mails so far, so if you are interested please e-mail me. Also please give your preferences as to dates. The other option is, of course, to meet at a restaurant. Disneyland seems to be of interest to several people. I live in Long Beach, close to the 710, 605 and 405 freeways.

I live in Orange County, so Downtown Disney is fine with me. I think it is centrally located for all the counties. I know they have alot of restaurants there, where we could grab a few tables and talk. Parking there is good too, with validations.

Well Al or Art, do you know who came to YOUR potlucks; their name or anything about them? That is do you know the name of everyone; not just Elvira and Patrick.

Inquiring Minds - You're plain rude! I hope you have no intention of attending the get together. I think it's wonderful that Art is so generous with the use of his home.

Yes, I have the names of everyone who came to each potluck but will not publish them here due to all of the infantile jerks like inquiring minds, nor would I without their permission. Both people named mentioned in posts that they were here.

What did I miss here? Was something deleted? What are you all talking about? It is just a get together, not a summit meeting.

Art,

I think it's very nice of you to offer your home again. That situation would make it much easier (in my opinion) to have a chance to talk to more people. In a restaurant situation, you mostly get to know the ones you are sitting near.

I would go to Orange County or to Art's home whichever is decided upon. But I vote for Art's.

Sue

Yes, it is nice for Art to offer his home, but don't you think Orange County is more accessible to those living south of Los Angeles? Why don't we just pick a restaurant and a day and isn't that all that needs to be done? We will appoint someone, like Mina or Art, to make reservations. But how would they know how many were coming? By all takers emailing one of them?

What is the matter with all of you So. Californians? Don't you want to meet up, or are you all at the beach surfing?

Hey hey now...easy.....

I am waiting for Art to email back a "yay" or "nay" since he's asked people to email him if they're interested. I have no idea who or how many have responded.

If it ends on being a go, Art knows that I am happy to help organize.

And to add fuel to the fire for all of you making fun of Southern Californians, I will say that I vote for breakfast, so that both company and food can be a combination of nuts, flakes, and fruit. Of course, there will always be a few hams.

Just kidding.

No, I don't know any real So. Californians. I have always wanted to be one myself, though, I can probably learn to surf. Maybe I will come to the party and meet you all, or am I just "California Deamin'".

Would love to participate if I'm not traveling (I travel for business). I'm from Laguna Beach, so Downtown Disney would be great. I'm gone from December 8 through 17th.
