Snowstorm in Paris - a few pix

Last week it snowed in Paris - the city was really beautiful then...albeit a little chilly! I was only there for two days, so I spent most of my time walking around the Latin Quarter and the area around the Louvre. Went over to Notre Dame for the Sunday morning service. Here is a link to the PhotoWorks web site if you'd like to see some pix...

When you're there, click on the "Launch Slide Show" button...

Thanks Breadman, great photos. I especially like #14 and #20. The B & W shots look timeless. SusanEva

All I can say is, "You 'da Breadman." Those images are awesome. My wife and I were in Paris over the Thanksgiving holiday as well. The flakes were unbelievably huge. We got a few pictures as well, but the Walgreen's has them and I'm too lazy to get in the car and drive up there to pick them up. Anyway, it was terribly cold at times, but also very beautiful.

Very nice photos.

Like your black and white. How did you get "some color" -- special filter or digital effect?

Thank you Breadman!
It was a pleasure to see the familiar sights, in black and white too! Great photos!
That little street in the Latin Quarter reminds me of the one that we wandered onto and found a great wine bar, that I cannot remember the name of

Thank you, Breadman!

I, too, love the black and white. Makes the snow scenes even more effective, I think.

Hi lyb,

Do you have an active popup blocker?

That might be the problem.

Wonderful pictures! I love the black and white. Er.. dumb question here...
do you have a digital camera? ... and I suppose you just set a button to "black and white"?

Hi - I'm glad you're all enjoying the pictures! I see Paris as a black and white city, so that's why I converted the pictures from color (at least most of them). I also added a little grain to make it look like film. Photoshop is great! These were all shot in color originally with a Nikon digital camera (D1H). Not terrific resolution (only 2.7 megapixels) but it works for me...

Regards,
JB

Lovely! Especially viewing them on a snowy day here in DC (that doesn't look anywhere near as nice as Paris, unfortunately).

Yeah! I was able to see them from work...they are wonderful!!! As much as I'm a warm weather person, it makes me want to be in Paris during a snow storm!

Love them!

Breadman, thank you! I was there in mid-November..no snow. Thanks for the tip about doing black and white. I have Nikon 4 megapixel and will try other effects. I really like #21 (and the rest too). Does anyone know how to pruchase the poster (#5)?

I absolutely love your pics! Everything looks so familiar, as we stayed in the Latin Quarter too. Do you recall the name of the tiny street in the L.Q.?
